DRS Thursday Challenge #18

Happy day in Blog Land...my posts have been few and far between as my MIL has been very sick with pneumonia and my husband and I live the closest.  I will say...she is on the mend.
My card today is for DRS Designs Thursday challenge and this week it is to make a shaped card other than a regular A2 or a square.  I decided on a dress as it was quick and easy.  I made my template out of computer paper and cut and traced it onto this black linen cardstock.  I stamped the dogwood branch in versamark and embossed it in white.  For the belt I used some SU! harware and bright pink ribbon.  The neckline was done with rhinestones and a paper flower.
Have a great day and head over to DRS Designs blog to play along!

I made a VERY quick card as it has been a LOOOONG day.  My MIL was discharged from the hospital .  She'd been there a week with pneumonia.  A long road ahead. So, needless to say, I am tired and this did NOT come out the way I'd imagined in my head!  I tried some rub-ons for the SCS Thursday WT challenge.  I used brown....they LOOK black.  Have a great day and good luck!  Head over to Debbie's blog next.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge: #17 Butterflies

I LOVE butterflies.  Every time I see them here in Colorado, I feel as though my mom has come to visit me.  I am in need of lots of birthday cards so I decided to use DRS Designs Birthday Sheet Music as the background.  I stamped it in basic gray and then sponged the outside with baja breeze and then the inside with soft sky.  I stamped DRS's Dogwood Branch in basic gray and water colored with pearlescent watercolors.  I did the same for the butterflies which I cut from the Leaf Butterfly Spray.  Next, I added some lavendar lace by stapling it on.  For a finishing touch, I added the rhinestones.
Head on over to DRS Designs Blog to play and maybe win this week!

My card today was also made for SCS CC367 and the colors are chocolate chip, river rock and baja breeze.  These are truly my go to colors...especially the river rock and baja. I stamped the image in noir black on white cardstock, colored the trees in with river rock and sponged the baja breeze around.  I used barely banana to high light the light on the light house. A fun embossing folder was used and I inked it up with choco chip...also embossed the brown layer. A fabulous brad from MFP's and some twine to finish it off.  This is just one of the great sets they have this month.  Head on over to Debbie's blog next!
Have fun!

DRS Thursday Challenge

Sketch 1.jpg
Our Thursday challenge this week over on the DRS Designs blog is the above sketch.  I found it a bit challenging as I don't own nesties....yep, it's true! I had to end up cutting down the blue paper in order to fit on the card.  I stamped the spring crocus on white and then punched out with a scalloped oval.  I then stamped it again and cut out the flowers and popped up the ones that were cut off with the oval punch.  I stamped the sentiment part of the Easter daffodil oval and punched it out with the word window.  Also, stamped the silhouette branch in garden green and then embossed that layer.

Have a great day!  I leave for the Sunshine State tomorrow!  A much needed vacation.
