Happy Birthday Bob-DRS Thursday Challenge

Our challenge over on the DRS Designs blog on this Thursday is to make a masculine card.  I need a birthday card for my BIL, so this worked perfectly!  He is a major fisherman.  I love this fishing square and colored it with close to cocoa, crumb cake, cajun craze, rust, crushed curry and poppy parade.  I sponged it with not quite navy and sage shadow.  I also dragged the distressed image through the sage shadow pad.  I inked up the embossing folder and ran it through...I like it.  I think it's nautical looking.  The not quite navy layer was stamped in black with  vicki's versatile bg (love this stamp, it is my go to).   For the sentiment, I only used a portion of the Cat's meow birthday greeting.  to finish it off.  I laid the image directly on the versamark and used one layer of UTEE to get a wet look.  Lastly, a giant brad and some twine to complete it.  Head on over to DRS Designs blog to play along and maybe win a stamp!

I can't believe this is the last day of the hop!  What a fun set this is....I often tell me girls this, "Stand out in a crowd!"  Love this set.  I used Basic Grey's News print dp, black and certainly celery cardstock.  Added some lace, a couple pretties and a great brad. The lace was stapled on willy nilly and the tree was paper pieced. I used the sketch for the week over on SCS...fun to use up some dp. Lastly, I used some grass from Scenic Selections...fabulous!
Head on over to Debbie's blog next and best of luck!

Hi there!  Can I say, I love this set too!  I am a big fan of brayering and look forward to using this set to create some awesome scenes.  I know my teammates have already done so.  Truth be told, this was a QUICK card.  I had my dd's soccer banquet (which I organized) tonight....didn't get home until after 9 and spent some much needed time with my girls.  Then I stayed up and watched American Idol....climbing into bed, I realized I hadn't made my card.  I came down to the craft room and put this together.  Unfortunately, I need a sympathy card.  I used the sentiment from Oopsy Daisy.
Head on over to Debbie's next.

This has to be one of my new all time MFP's a Heinrich CO. favorites.  My husband, his friends and my sisters all love fishing.  In fact, my husband is on a week long trip in the Florida Keys fishing for tarpon. I sponged on cameo coral, orchid opulence and not quite navy.  On my first card, the image was stamped in noir black.  I added some birds from our new set Scenic Selections.  The blue paper is white core cardstock that I sanded some to reveal the white underneath. The peach, gray and blue layers were all embossed. A gray button and coral colored twine were used.  Lastly, a nice fish embellie to complete it.  I think this will go to my sister for her BD this summer.
My second card is for my hubby for Father's day.  He is tarpon fishing in the FL Keys as I write this.

I went simple for my hop card today....lots of pregraduation prep and end of school year things happening for my daughter MacKenna.  Can I tell you how much I love this set?  Well, I love it!  This card is 4 1/4" square.  I masked and sponged pink passion onto white cardstock and then using versamark and black ep I stamped the daisies.  I decided at the last minute to add the pink on the petals with the pink passion marker and it doesn't look remotely the same...boohoo.  Oh well.  I used the spiral notebook bunch, a black brad and some twine to finish it off.
Have fun on the hop and head over to Debbie's blog next.

DRS Designs Thursday Challenge-Graduation

This is the PERFECT challenge for me as I have a daughter graduating from high school.  I need LOTS of grad cards!  I used DRS Designs Culmination Graduation greeting as the main image and used night of navy and glorious green markers to color in the silhouette branch and then stamped off twice before stamping on the white linen card stock.  I stamped the not quite navy layer with the lines o' plenty bg stamp in glorious green and then embossed with the leaf ef.  Photo corner punch used in one corner and the sentiment is up on dimensionals.  Some green twine used as an embellie. Another grad card done and LOTS more to do!
Head on over to DRS Designs blog and play along!
