Ghosts and goblins DRS Designs Thursday Challenge #40

Hi there!  Happy Thursday.  Our challenge over on the DRS Designs blog for this week is ghosts and goblins. I used a piece of white core black cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug with this cool folder and then sanded it a bit.  The ghosts are dimensionalized. Stamps: small bat and moon, Spencer the night so spooky ghost and I stamped the Halloween from the Halloween Spirits and Booze greeting.

Sketch 179 365 Cards Blog

I made this challenge card for the sketch over on 365 cards blog.  DRS Designs is sponsoring this particular challenge and I used their new greeting, Sitting here thinking of you and Autumn Floral spray.  I stamped the image a few times and then punched with a 1 1/4" circle punch and layered with a 1 3/8" circle punch of early espresso.  Colored with summer starfruit, river rock, crumb cake and peach parfait.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it into two pieces. An embossing folder and some embroidery thread finish it off.  Head on over to 365 cards blog to play and you just might win!

A daisy treat

My card today features DRS Designs medium daisy bloom and the "A treat for You" greeting.  I decided to bring my crafting supplies up to the kitchen table so I could be with my dogs.....the littlest one can't be trusted in the basement with me:)  I had SERIOUS issues with bugs. Bugs everywhere.  I had to keep blowing them off of everything.  I closed one in my noir black stamp pad!  Anyhow, I am happy with how this turned out and it will go to my dd in college.  Her fave color is purple.  I did a criss cross card and randomly stamped the daisy on white paper and colored in with markers. Applied the olive with a kleenex (you get creative when you forget your sponge in the basement!).
Enjoy your day!

TTSTV-Criss Cross Card with Lois Bak

Yeah, it's Friday.  I used the fabulous set from MFP's a HC called Celebrate Big.  Love it.  I am going to sit down now and make some more cards with it....lots of fun ideas.  Lois Bak brought us this great tutorial that you can find here.
Have a great day!

DRS Thursday Challenge-Silhouettes

Happy Day!  I know I've been saying this a lot lately, but I do believe that this is, by far, one of my most FAVORITE DRS Design stamps.  And one of the first that I owned.  I stamped the image in noir black and brayered cameo coral, melon mambo and summer sun.  I masked the sun and then sponged with summer sun.  Simple and to the point!

Condolences

Good morning and happy Saturday!  I am trying to get some sympathy cards added to my stash.  They aren't my favorite card to make, but I am happy with how this turned out.  I used copper ep for the following stamps from DRS Designs:  Background Branch and the 1 Line Heartfelt Condolences.  I like to try and keep sympathy cards on the simpler side.  I embossed the copper layer and added some sparkly copper ribbon and a brad.
Have a lovely day.

TTSTV #12 Faux Patina

Happy Friday!!!  I am off to Kansas sometime today....I am going to drive 4 hours, spend the night somewhere and then drive the rest of the way to see MacKenna play in her FIRST college soccer game!  It is just a scrimmage, but I can't wait to see her!  Plus, I have a bunch of stuff to give her, too.
Our tutorial today was brought to us by Pat Garvin and it is faux patina.  Pat, I LOVE the look of the faux patina and I thank you for bringing it to us! I used frayed burlap, baja breeze, wild wasabi and burnt umber.  I put some copper ep on my images as well.  This tree is from the mini set at MFP's a HC called Tree Selections....fabulous set!  Head on over to Speedy TV to play in tutorial time here and click on Challenge #12. Play along and you just might win a stamp set!

Take care,

Having fun with the new sets.  I randomly stamped the tree repeatedly on a vanilla circle.  Added some October Afternoon paper, wonderful ribbon and twine along with a button to finish it off.

DRS Thursday Challenge #39-Balloons

I have to laugh at myself...last weeks' challenge was "get well"...so I used the big balloon on my creation!  So today, to change things up, I decided to make my own balloons.  I punched the circles out of yoyo yellow and lovely lilac and ran through an embossing folder.  Stamped the Birthday Sheet music in lovely lilac and sponged around the edge with yoyo yellow.  The lilac layer was run through the same embossing folder as the balloons.
Come on over to DRS Designs blog, play along and you just might win a fun stamp!

TTSTV#11 Stamping/coloring on vellum

I made my card today for TTSTV#11 challenge done by Tammylee...stamping and coloring on vellum.  I chose to sneak peek the set Bring on the Sun which will be available soon.  I stamped the images in burnt umber and then turned the vellum over and colored the flower in with daffodil delight, peach parfait and pear pizazz.  The bee was colored in with creamy caramel and crushed curry.  Some tiny screw brads used to attach the vellum to the yellow layer and placed on dimensionals.  I used crumb cake directly on lattice ef to pick up some color.  Yellow and white baker's twine and a jumbo button for embellies.  The sentiment was stamped and punched out and placed on dimensionals.
Head on over to TTSTV....tutorial time challenges to play and best of luck!

Get Well Soon with Wheels!

Happy Thursday!  Yep, that means another DRS Designs blog Thursday challenge!  Today, it is all about wheels.  I decided to try and make my own and am happy with how it came out!  I used 2 small circle punches to create the wheels and then scraps for the inside.  The wagon was made out of some burnt red, white core cardstock that I embossed and sanded a bit. I used four stamps from DRS Designs and they are the Candy Cane Christmas Critter ( I covered the candy canes with flowers!), Easy Grass BG, the Giant Open balloon and the One Line Get Well greeting.  A brad was used for the sun.  The balloon, critter and wagon are all up on dimensionals and I used some red twine for the balloon.
Come on over to DRS Designs blog to play and enter your card for a chance to win!

TTSTV #10-Diagonal double pocket card

Happy Friday!  Glad to see the weekend, but sad that I only have one week before we take our youngest to college out-of-state.  She is playing soccer on a scholarship and reports to school 17 days before school starts!
My card today was made for TTSTV #10, a diagonal double pocket card.  It is being brought to us by Jane Chambers.  What a fun card to make!!!  It scared me, but turned out to be really easy.  I used MFP's a HC's Sending Happy Thoughts.  The images were stamped in burnt sienna and colored with so saffron, baja breeze and pear pizzazz.  Some punched butterflies applied and tiny, shiny beads added to them (that you can't see here). Old 12x 12 SU! dp and the fabulous lace is from MFP's a HC.  Thanks for looking and head on over to MFP Speedy TV to play along and maybe win!
