All that glitters with my crafty sisters! Glitter is stronger than blood!

Life is a zoo during the holiday season!  This was a quick card and it it so glittery pretty but alas, difficult to photo!  I stamped the trees from SU's Lovely as a Tree in noir black, sponged on the not quite navy and then went busy with the glitter. I used a glue pen to add the glitter for the snow and the trees have glitter, too. Head over to Mountain Plains Crafters to see my compadre's creations and check out their blogs, too.

Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop~Christmas Version

Well, I did it! I was able to make a Christmas coffee card! It helps (or not) when you wake up at 3 AM. That just isn't right! I used Mark's Finest Papers stamps: Oh, Beans 2012, Poinsettia Blooms 2012 and Holly Greetings 2011. I stamped the cups directly on the dp...and I don't know what it is as the cover has disappeared, but all 3 designer papers are from the same set of 6 x 6 paper. Next, I set about cutting them out and stamped/cut an additional two cups on different dp. Then I colored the plates in riding hood red. The mistletoe and berries were stamped on white, colored with riding hood red and mellow moss. I used glossy mod podge on cups and glossy accents on berries. Lace, stick pin, a fun snowflake and some rhinestones here and there to finish it off! For the sentiment, I stamped on vanilla, and then punched another oval in riding hood red and layered it onto the sides.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and I need to get commenting on everyone's beautiful creations!

Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Good afternoon, hello, hey, how are you~!!!!!!!!
Me, well..I am having fun listening to some fun dance music and creating. Took a break from the Christmas theme to make this fun coffee card for the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and SplitCoast Stampers sketch challenge (SC518) today. I used Unity's June 2014 KOM for the image and the sentiment. I think I used almost every colored marker I own! Some embroidery thread, a matching brad and a circle punch for the sentiment. I sponged some rose red around the circle so it wasn't boring white! I used Cosmo Cricket's 6 x 6 mini deck dp called DeLovely and white card stock.....oh, a piece of strawberry slush to mat the cups!
Much has happened to me the past six weeks or so and I must say, I consider my mug full!
Happy, happy holidays!

p.s. I want to make a Christmas themed coffee card next...I hope I get it done in time to post it!

GIU Girl~Day 5

Good morning!
Welcome to my last day as a GIU girl today.
I need to apologize for being late with this post. Yesterday was a very rough day in my household. We had to put our beloved golden retriever, Colter, down. She lived a wonderful 13+ years.
By the time I remembered to get this posted, I was laying in bed and the sandman was calling!.

For my card, I used the KOTM from October 2014 for the image and sentiment. Both stamped in noir black and the images were painted with pearlescent watercolors. The berries were painted with red smooch. Next, I added some iridescent glitter for some snow on the pinecones. A few rhinestones and embroidery thread for embellishments. The layer behind the sentiment is also kraft and it was painted with the red smooch.

I have enjoyed my time as the GIU girl and look forward to randomly picking the winner of the two free itty bitty's of choice from Unity!

Until next time!

Growing in Unity~Day 4

Welcome to my blog on my fourth day as a GIU for Unity Stamp Co!
I don't know why I don't make more of these crafty candles. They turn out so beautifully.
For this candle, I used the gorgeous feather out of July 2014 KOTM. I stamped it twice on white tissue paper in noir black and then used several different colored markers to color it up. After coloring, you cut closely around the image....but it doesn't have to be exact. Next, you lay it where you want it on the candle and then wrap wax paper tightly around it. Heat up your heat gun for about 30-40 seconds before heating up your image. It happens quickly. You can see it melt into the candle.
I need to head to the craft store to buy some more candles as I am making these for Christmas gifts.

Remember to comment on my blog to possibly win 2 itty bitty's of your choice from Unity! Also, be sure to check out my last post for Friday! I've had fun being the GIU girl.

Growing in Unity~Day 3

Hi again! Back for my third day of Unity's GIU! I am having so much fun!  Now I have to say, I am not usually one for fancy fold things. I am kind of a rebel and the measuring tends to get me every time. However, I discovered this fold over box and I feel totally different now! The first one I made came out beautifully!  This is my second one. I used a little of this and a little of that and simply love how this one came out.
Stamp:  Love never fails (butterfly), August 2014 KOTM (leaves) and donna peony

On a side note, at the top of the stamp packages at Unity it says under their name, "enjoy life, enjoy friends, enjoy creating with Unity"
Well, I most definitely enjoy creating with Unity!!!!

For the box, I used some old 12 x 12 thin cardboard that came with some dp that I purchased. The designer paper is from a Prima's dp 6 x 6 pack. Love these colors. The pretty turquoise flowers and ribbon are from Mark's Finest Papers. For the top embellishments I stamped them in versa mark and embossed them in brown. I used melon mambo, rose red, old olive and turquoise with a blender pen to color my stamped images. Next, they were cut out and put on dimensionals...the flower was rolled around a pencil here and there to give it more dimension. I must say, it is difficult to get good photos of 3 dimensional items...so I took several!  I would highly recommend making this. SO easy.

Have a great day!

Growing in Unity~Day 2

Day number 2 for Unity's GIU!  Here is a super quick, easy peasy gift pouch that can be made to whatever size you might need! It is called the diaper fold pouch. I used a 12 x 12 two-sided piece of designer paper. I love making these for our mailman, UPS delivery guy and whomever else I feel the need to say thanks to! I used the October 2014 KOTM deer and stamped it in burnt umber. I stamped the ribbon portion of it again, cut it out and then stamped "joy" in its center....I popped this portion up for some more dimension. Ruby red and old olive were used as well as some baja breeze to sponge around the circle. This bag is filled with peanut M & M's and finished off with a pretty red ribbon.

Remember to comment for your chance to win two free itty bitty's of your choice at the end of the week!

Thanks for stopping by!
