If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Dec 12 #132

Good day! I hope this day finds everyone happy where there at this Dec. 12th! Our inspiration for the next two weeks at If you Give a Crafter a Cookie is below.

Isn't it so cute? Too cute to eat, for sure. I decided to use a SU! set from 2007 called Punch Pals. I stamped, colored and cut out the penguins. Added some dp for interest behind them and I haven't used an edge punch forever. I wish they put the names of the punches on the punch itself as I don't remember what it's called. The penguins are on dimensionals and so is the sentiment.

Crafting by Designs December Anything Goes

Happy December! Wow! Where did the year go? My first two cards are made using Bachelor Buttons from a Day for Daisies
I loved this digital image so much, I decided to make two cards. I printed on mixed media paper and colored using zig watercolor brush markers. My sentiments are from Unity itty bittys. The background on both creations was done by wadding up a kleenex and putting dabbing on tempting turquoise stamp pad. DCVW Textured dp used for the background paper.

Our next sponsor is We Are 3 and I used their Early bird sentiments
on both creations and What's up Birdie on the second card
My first creation, I fussy cut the sentiment with the lovely wreath around it and sponged some ivory onto the sentiment. For some layering I die cut two circles. All of the dp is from a Tim Holtz 12 x 12 paper pack. I used organza ribbon and distressed it by heating it....it happens quick, so be careful!

My second card is pretty straight forward. I printed a colored digi image of my bird and fussy cut him out. I have washi tape and rarely ever use it...but thought this fit perfectly with my silly bird and the sentiment. My blue mats were dragged through a blue ink pad so it looks distressed. A fancy polka dot gold brad helped to finish it off.

Our 3rd sponsor this month is Di's Digital stamps

This was my favorite creation of the month for me. I purchased Hedgehogs kiss
I had so much fun watercoloring this image. I printed it on mixed media paper and went to work watercoloring it. I added some liquid pearls for the snowflakes. My dp is a 6 x 6 paper pack and I apologize, I don't know the name of it as I left it in the mountains. The sentiment was used from a Unity itty bitty and I finished it off by using some old SU! red ribbon.

Our last sponsor of the month is Oddball Art and I used Kiss My Sass Woodland Critters

I printed the image on white card stock and then fussy cut all the critters out after coloring them. That silly beaver chewed the tree down. Again, I apologize but I don't know the patterened paper name as I left it in the mountains!. I used a crushed curry brad to finish this sweet card off.

Please take some time for yourselves this month as we all tend to get so busy! Head on over to Crafting by Designs and upload your creations and you may win some digis!

Merry Christmas!

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Nov. 28 #131

What a fun cookie photo for inspiration!

I chose a couple Unity itty bitty's for my creation and a Stamping Up! sentiment. For the sketch, I used SCS SC777. I struggled with this and in the end, made the card 61/2 x 5. I used an embossing folder for the green strips and the snowmen and sentiment were stamped on watercolor paper and the images were watercolored. I had to add a button and twine to finish it off.

Have a great weekend and head on over to If You Give a Crafter a Cookie to play!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Christmas Ornaments with Anthony's Paper Craft

Happy Thursday! I hope this day finds everyone warm and happy...and looking forward to the weekend!
It is my turn to share some Christmas goodness from Anthony's Paper Craft!
My first card I used Ornament Set 3 and Christmas Sentiments 1.
I stamped the ornament using my Misti in always artichoke and then added real red highlights to it.
The sentiment was stamped in always artichoke, too. I distressed the edges of the image and sentiment and sponged with early espresso.

My second card I used the Oval Ornament. I used the misti to stamp in black and colored in with a purple and a purpley-pink.  I distressed the edges a bit and sponged some Palette purple sachet. Next, I put 3 layer of clear embossing powder on the image. I ran the purple layer through the cuttlebug with a Darice snowflake embossing folder and added some hologram highlights embossing powder to the raised snowflakes.....I was going for a vintage, distressed look.

A floral thank you from Anthony’s Paper Crafts

I decided to play along with the sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I gotta tell you, this is one of my most favorite stamps from Anthony’s Paper Craft. The sentiment and the flowers are from the set Floral Background 2. I stamped it on white card stock with Gina K. Black ink and colored in with Zig watercolor markers. The background was sponged with soft sky. I punched them out with 1 1/4 inch punch and layered it ha black border using a 1 3/8 punch. The bg was sponged with soft sky and run through burlap embossing folder. The sentiment was sponged and punched and layer3d with black, too. Happy crafting and head over to Anthony’s Paper Craft!

If you Give a Crafter a Cookie Oct. 17th #128

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't believe that it is almost Halloween! Wild.
For this creation today, I pulled out and oldie, but goodie Mark's Finest Papers set from 2013 called What a scream.
I stamped Frankie in black and colored in his face with pear pizazz. I fussy cut him out and the sentiments as well. For some interest, I used Nuvo drops in gray on his stitches. I used a fun and funky cuttlebug folder over this old SU! dp. Lastly, I decided to use some hands.

Take care,

Crafting by Designs...October Anything Goes!

Happy October! For my first creation, I used Dr. Digi's Phyllis the Festive Fairy

Using some old, old SU! designer paper, I paper pieced her dress and the background paper that is embossed is also from same paper pack. I used Zigg markers to color her skin and hair. Purple glitter was used for the butterfly and star.

My second creation is from Twinkle Lane Designs and I used the sheep knitter.
I used a combination of markers and Zig watercolor brushes to color her up and then used some dimensional paint from Nuvo. I love how this turned out!

My last creation is from Hetty Clare and I paper pieced the Country Girl Rose with some leftover and unknown designer paper. I used the tulip embossing folder around her, too. I couldn't decide on a sentiment but will add one when I use it!

Please head over to Crafting by Designs to see all the inspiration by my team members....play along and you could win a 2 digital images from one of our sponsors this month!

If you Give a Crafter A Cookie Challenge #124

Are these not the cutest cookies ever?! I can't believe I didn't own any llama stamps. Well, I do now. I  went on Easy and found this darling llama from Cards and Crafts by Erica Burton...Party Sunglasses llama
I printed my image and heat set it to do a combo of watercoloring and Zig watercolor markers. It worked! I wanted a bit of a shaggy look to my llama. My spiral notebook punch was used for interest down the side of my teal paper. I also used an assortment of buttons and twine to complete the design.
I made my own sentiment in Bradley Hand font.

If you Give a Crafter a Cookie Blog Challenge Aug.8 #123

Happy, happy day!
I actually sat and crafted today! I am a week out of back surgery for a herniated disc and can't bend, lift or twist. I do have a grabber and a daughter at home....both helped!
Initially, I was going to make a collage, but I quickly decided to make a scene instead.
Nothing very fancy or difficult with this. I did mask some and my little bear peeking out is on a dimensional. The sleeping bag is cinched with twine and since this is an easel card, I used my lovely lantern charm as the stop with a little twine bow at the top.

Stamp sets  Gorgeous Grunge (SU), In Tents (MFP 2013), Happy Camper (SU)

Ink: Distressed Walnut, D.O. in following colors....peacock feathers, fossilized amber, salty ocean, spiced marmalade, frayed burlap, peeled paint and SU! soft sky.

Paper:  White card stock

Accessories:  twine, dimensionals, lantern charm

Have a lovely day and be kind!

Christmas in July with Anthony’s Paper Craft

Greetings! Today is my last creation as guest designer for Anthony’s Paper Craft. It has been fun creating with their quality stamps!
Today I am showcasing the set hanging ornaments. This stamp set comes with two ornaments.
I stamped it in red and then put 3 layers of Ultra Thick Embossing Powder (UTEE) on and then into freezer for a couple minutes. I then bent it to form the cracks which I rubbed brown ink into. This is called cracked glass and is one of my favorite things to do. My sentiment is from Christmas Sentiments 1.
The red layer actually was a card with diecut oval that I cut down to fit the A2 card. My sentiment and the background layer is my own handmade wood background. I take the edge of a stamp pad and drag it down the paper. A few brads to finish it off.
I would like to thank APC for having me. It was fun creating with Anthony’s stamps!

Christmas in July with Anthony's Paper Craft

Only a few more days for me as guest designer for Anthony's Paper Craft. I have had so much fun creating with his stamps. My first creation, I used pinecones w/branch and Christmas set 1. The sketch was for the sketch challenge yesterday on Splitcoast Stampers. I stamped the pine branches around in emerald envy on tan paper. I stamped the image in versa fine black ink, watercolored and fussy cut it out. I used a word from a sentiment in Christmas sentiments 1 and punched out with an oval punch.

For my second card, I used Christmas set 1 again. I colored with Zig watercolor markers. My designer paper...is a scrap. My base is tan cardstock and I used red to layer the dp. My sentiment is from Christmas Sentiments 1.

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie July 25th, #122

Aren't those robot cookies adorable? I am a baker, but I don't do fancy stuff like this! Mine do taste good, though!
I purchased this sweet digital stamp from SheepSki Designs on Etsy. His name is Bob no 60
I ended up printing pop on a piece of Tim Holtz 12 x 12 designer paper. I cut it down to 8.5 x 11 and ran it through printer. He was colored similarly to the cookie photo. I got a chance to use my fun gears and a screw brad. For the sentiment, I made my own using Nanum pen script font, printed it and then used a SU! punch....I then made a mat for the sentiment with orange cardstock. I also matted entire image with the orange. The base layer is white.
I could find so, so many reasons to use this card.

Getting Ready for Christmas at Crafting by Designs

Happy Wednesday to everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It's time to get some more Christmas creations done! This week our sponsor is Colour of Love. You can head over to their store here.
The prize is 3 images of your choice.

I had so much fun using this image from Colour of Love called Christmas Star. I watercolored the hat, jacket, gloves, ornaments and branches. The snow and the snowman were painted with Sheer Shimmer Spritz in frost....so dang difficult to photograph!
There, I took another photo close up to see the sparkle a bit better. The background paper is from Authentique called Sea-Maiden. I added some lovely pearls and my sentiment is from Anthony's Paper Craft from a set called Christmas Sentiments 1. After stamping it, I cut it up so if fit my design better.
I distressed the black layer on the image.

I hope that you can play! Kind of nice to get to Christmas and you don't have to stress about making cards as you've already done them throughout the year!
